Dolan and Murphy fastpitch softball team finished with a 1-2 record in the International Softball Congress (ISC) World Tournament in Eldridge, Iowa, August 14-21.
Dolan defeated Lancaster, Pa., 7-2. Michael Jamieson was the winning pitcher, struck out nine, and gave up five hits. Leading the offense were Jake Bryan with a double and two hits, Mick Baker with two hits and two RBIs, Luis Saldana with two hits and three RBIs, and Kyle Pittman with two hits and one RBI.
Dolan played the No. 1 ranked team in the world, New York Gremlin, and lost, 15-0. Jamieson was the losing pitcher and the New York Gremlin pitcher threw a no-hit game.
In the losers bracket Dolan was ahead in the sixth inning, by three runs, but ended up losing to St. Paul Minn., 8-6. Jamieson was the losing pitcher. Leading the offense were Dave Perkins with three hits and two RBIs, John Schweighart with two hits and one RBI.
With that loss it put Dolan into the ISC2 tournament.
Dolan lost 3-0 to Appleton, Wis. with Jamieson the losing pitcher and Kyle Pittman with two hits to lead the slumping offense.
Dolan’s season ended with an 8-1 loss to St. Paul. Jamieson was the losing pitcher. Saldana had the only hit.
Dolan and Murphy ended the season with a 17-14 record. The team offers thanks to Dolan and Murphy for the continued help with the team.
