Dolan and Murphy fastpitch softball team, based in Aurora, finally started its season last weekend in Walcott, Iowa, and captured the Iowa Area International Softball Conference (ISC) tournament championship with 5-0 record. COVID-19 had delayed games.
In the championship game, Dolan defeated the Walcott Merchants, 9-1. Michael Jamieson was the winning pitcher. Dave Perkins lead the offense with a three-run home run and John Schweighart’s two hits drove in two runs.
Dolan will be in the Denmark, Wis. Boys of Summer, Friday-Sunday.
Dolan won its first game in Iowa, 6-0, over the Walcott Merchants. Winning pitcher was Michael Jamieson with a three-hitter. He struck out 14. Leading the offense were Schweighart, Dan Alstat, and Cooper Carson with two hits each. Carson drove in two runs.
Dolan won game two, 5-0, over Davenport Titans. Jose Deleon was the winning pitcher with a two-hitter and struck out 14. Leading the offense were Mick Baker, Carson, and Cam Walton each with two hits. Baker had a triple and home run. Cooper had two RBIs.
Dolan defeated the Walcott Lampliter, 4-2, with Michael Jamieson the winning pitcher. He gave up four hits and struck out five. Leading the offense was Alstat with two hits and two RBIs and Mike Drew with a double and two RBIs.
Dolan defeated the Quad City Bullets, 11-8. Deleon was the winning pitcher. Leading the offense were Dave Schuett, with three hits and a home run, Cam Walton with three RBIs, and Jake Bryan with two hits.
