Kate Purl, director of the Downtown Aurora Magic Festival, gives a report on the event to the Kiwanis Club of Aurora Tuesday at the Prisco Center in Aurora. Purl explained the name was changed because Warner Brothers, the studio that owns the rights to the Harry Potter film series, is effectively shutting down all Harry Potter festivals. She said this year there are no licensing options for the name and the festival will change names of magic-themed activities to follow legal guidelines from the Warner Brothers lawyer, but they still plan to have time as great as last year. The festival is looking for sponsors and is set to be held in downtown Aurora Saturday, June 9, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with no plans for Sunday, June 10. Proceeds from this event will be shared among several not-for-profit organizations. Jason Crane/The Voice
