East Aurora High School Football Old Timers Association will hold its 75th annual awards dinner Thursday, Oct. 21, at Gaslite Manor, 2485 Church Road in Aurora.
The public is invited. The event opens with a reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m.. Proceeds will benefit the Tomcat football program and scholarships to senior football players.
The event will celebrate the 1970 and 1971 Tomcat football teams on their 50th anniversaries and the 1995 and 1996 teams will be inducted into the Association.
Coach Steve “Benny” Kenyon, president of the nonprofit association, said “The event will be a combined 75th and 76th year celebration due to the pause last year from COVID-19 restrictions. Rally your teammates and family for our special celebration of Tomcat football.”
“It’s a milestone year for our organization. Our goal is to seat 200 former EAHS football team members.”
According to Kenyon, the association founded its scholarship program in 2010. Since then, 18 senior football Tomcats have received $500 scholarships each. In addition to dinner and recognitions, the event will include raffle prizes.
Tickets are $25. For tickets, call Kenyon at 630-553-1631, send requests to 47 N. Royal Oaks Drive, Bristol, IL, 60512 or send an E-mail to eaoldtimersfootball@Gmail.com.
