Egg Hunt on the Island: Month-long scavenger

Egg Hunt on the Island will welcome all ages to downtown Aurora to search for artsy eggs placed in more than a dozen downtown storefronts.

This month, the Aurora Downtown organization will be partners with Adventures in Scavenger Hunting to create an Easter scavenger hunt at 14 locations throughout downtown.

The month-long scavenger hunt celebrates Spring and Easter, and offers a crowd-free event for everyone to enjoy. Each participating location showcases an egg poster with a QR code to scan for entry into a giveaway. The posters were created by local artists and students.

One of the locations features dozens of eggs in their windows by students from Benavides STEAM Academy, Oak Park Elementary, and Rollins Elementary School in SD131.

Art teacher Bonny Ramirez, who teaches at Benavides STEAM Academy and Oak Park Elementary created the project for her K-2 students “as a celebration of spring to coincide with Aurora Downtown’s Egg Hunt on the Island event,” she said.

Egg Hunt on the Island will continue through Easter (April 4) weekend. Aurora Downtown will be host to socially-distanced photos with the Easter bunny from noon to 3 p.m. both Saturday, March 20 and Saturday, 27 at Millennium Plaza on Stolp Avenue.
