The Venue, the 200-seat music performance space in Aurora, celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with a rollicking performance by the Empty O’Can Band at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 14. Tickets range from $10 to $15 and are available at themusicvenue.org. The Venue, in downtown at 21 S. Broadway in Aurora, Illinois, was created by the Fox Valley Music Foundation.
All of the favorite rollicking Irish songs, mixed with the Irish rock, sounds of Van Morrison, U2, Thin Lizzy, the Pogues and Christy Moore, will be present some musical friends who may join the boys on the rocky road to Dublin for a night worthy of remembrance.
Dave Glynn, leader of the Empty Can Band has been playing the Irish circuit since he was a wee lad. Performing regularly over the years at the Emerald Isle, Gaelic Park Irish Fest, Irish Times, Vaughan’s, Reilly’s Daughter, Durty Nellie’s and the University of Notre Dame on St. Patrick’s Day, Dave built quite an Irish repertoire of significance over the years.
The Empty Can Band is one of Aurora’s musical talent treasures. Forming in 1989, the Band will celebrate 20 years in November and has performed at Aurora’s Downtown Alive for several years and a regular at Two Brothers’ Roundhouse.
