The Aurora Navy League Council 247 will hold its Tuesday January 17th dinner meeting at the private room of the Riverview Diner, IL-25 and Mill Street, Montgomery.
A reception will begin promptly at 5 p.m. followed by a meeting at 5:30 p.m. with dinner afterward. The cost is $25 all-inclusive if an entree is ordered, or $20 for the dinner salad featured that evening. Free entry without food. The meeting will conclude no later than 8 p.m..
You do not need to be a member of the Navy League, or have a reservation, to attend the in-person meeting, the general public is welcome.
The after dinner speaker is Mr. John J. (Jay) Mroszczak of the FBI Chicago who will speak on “The Activities and Challenges of the FBI Chicago Regional Office”. Jay Mroszczak has been with the FBI Chicago for over six years, serving as both the Community Outreach Program Manager and as one of the Division’s Crisis Response Team Managers. During that time, he also served as the co-chair of the Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee of the Bureau’s Diversity Action Council (DAC) for two years.
Jay has over 40 years of professional experience working in National Security arena. Prior to joining the FBI in Chicago, Jay was an Executive Program Manager with Booz Allen Hamilton, managing several, strategic-level national security support programs. Jay is a trained member of the Bureau’s Critical Incident Response Group (CIRG), and he has helped manage numerous Command Post (CP) activations in support of real-world incidents, as well as several CP training exercises.
Before working for Booz Allen, Jay retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years as a senior-level, Combat Arms Officer, and he completed two combat deployments during his military tenure. A Chicago native, Jay is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago with a BS in Psychology (and a minor in Biology). He completed two master’s degrees—one in Criminal Justice/Criminal Law, and another in Government Program Management. He is also a Senior Fellow in National Security at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
All are invited to this event. Only those who order a meal are required to pay for the meal. Others may attend at no-charge.
The Aurora Council is having a membership drive, and will pay half of the first year’s dues for new members. This is an excellent opportunity to attend an interesting event, and determine whether you would like to join permanently.
