Nomination open for Woman of Power
SHARE (Supporting Hope and Respecting Everyone) Fox Valley is pleased to announce that nominations are being accepted for the 11th Annual Woman of Power Award. SHARE recognizes women for their significant volunteer contributions to the Fox Valley area and its citizens and for their efforts to change the community for the better. Nomination forms are available online at www.sharefoxvalley.com or sending to info@sharefoxvalley.com. Deadline for submissions is August 9.

The recipient will be honored at the SHARE 11th Annual Women’s Power Luncheon to be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Pipers Banquets, 1295 Butterfield Road, Aurora.

Overnight work on Butterfield Road
To improve pavement conditions and safety on Butterfield Road (Illinois 56) in Aurora, night construction started this week.

From 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, residents can expect construction equipment and noise on Butterfield Road between the Kane County/DuPage County line and Route 59.

Construction is expected to be completed at the end of the month, conditions permitting.

Fox Valley Sustainability forum July 31
The Fox Valley Sustainability Network will hold a Transportation Forum from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 31 at the Prisco Center, 150 W Illinois Avenue, Aurora. We will take a look into what the Will, Kane, and McHenry Counties are doing to make their communities more friendly to bikes and walking.
