First Lt. Henry W. Flora, a World War II hero, middle, front row, who served with General Douglas MacArthur, celebrates his 100th birthday with 50 family and friends at the Lodge at Laurelwood, 800 N. River Street, Batavia February 17. He contributed significantly to the Army radio communication network that turned the tide in the South Pacific during the war. During his 100th year celebration, he was presented with an authentic high power radio transmitter tube, exactly like the ones he used as a 23-year-old lieutenant during World War II. Submitted photo
