Mayor of Aurora Richard Irvin’s first media availability event discussing the extremely cold weather and the City’s response to House Bill 910, proposed State legislation by Stephanie Kifowit, representative of the 84th District at Aurora City Hall, January 29. Representative Kifowit created legislation to allow residents to vote for Aurora Public Library Board members instead of being appointed.
Mayor Irvin, along with Ken Schroth, left, director of Public Works / City engineer; Gary Krienitz, Fire Department chief; and Kristen Ziman, Police Department chief, addressed the City’s plan for the extreme weather.

I think it is very good forward thinking on the part of Rep. Kifowit. While I do trust the current mayor, His Honor Mayor Irvin will not hold the post indefinitely. We need to have safeguards in place to protect us from possible errors by future administrations.
