The Batavia Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting for First Student in Batavia recently. Not only was it a ceremony to honor its location move and for its joining the Batavia Chamber, but a kick-off for a Job Fair. First Student needs to hire 180 bus drivers for the upcoming school year. The transportation company moved to 1311 N. Raddant Road.

Batavia mayor Jeffery Schielke presided over the celebration along with James Reeves, location manager for First Student in Batavia. Among the well-wishers were Batavia Chamber president Margaret Perreault; Dr. Lisa Hichens, superintendent of Batavia Public School District 101 (BPS 101); Shirley Mott, Chamber communications and membership coordinator; Patti Anselme, Chamber special events coordinator; Chamber ambassadors, and First Student employees.
