State representative Barbara Hernandez, D-Aurora, is raising awareness of opportunities for small businesses to apply for a new round of Back-to-Business grants, which provide funding to help develop growing small businesses.
“Flourishing small businesses are the foundation of a stronger economy for Illinois, and the grant funding now available to emerging small businesses is an opportunity for entrepreneurs to reinforce that foundation,” Hernandez said.
“Growing up in Aurora, it has always been clear to me that our economic future is bright, thanks to the ingenuity and hard-work of small business owners. These grants are just a helping hand as Illinois overcomes external financial obstacles.”
Applications are open from November 30 through January 11, 2024, to businesses that opened between January 2020 and December 2021. Interested applicants are encouraged to visit b2bnewbiz.com to work with 100 trained community navigators working across Illinois to facilitate the application process.
“I encourage any person who has opened a new business in the last several years to take advantage of this opportunity,” Hernandez said. “Your success will do more than make you money, it will help build up your entire community and ensure stable growth for Aurora.”
