Earth Day, April 22, is almost here. Sustainable Aurora, the Mayor’s Advisory Board on sustainability and the environment, announces a call to our artist community for a story-telling video which will celebrate the Earth and our talented artists all at the same time.
We invite all artists to submit artwork electronically that will be incorporated into a slide show video which we will feature on the city government’s website and Facebook Page. The intention is to capture “What Earth Day Means to Me”, and the theme for this year is “Spaceship Earth”.
We all live on Spaceship Earth and it’s up to us to protect it, use everything carefully, waste nothing, dispose of waste properly, and protect our quality of life. The Spaceship Earth theme is a suggestion to strike the imagination of our artists. We welcome all ideas and look forward to the creativity and great intentions of our artists.
Works allowed in the exhibition include drawings, paintings, photographs, and graphics. The deadline for submission is April 15. Please send all artwork to Alex Minella, minellaa@aurora.il.us.
