Gary Swick, incomparable president of Friends of the Fox River, will present an entertaining and informative look at the health of the Fox River Watershed in his annual State of the Fox River program from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8 at Schweitzer Environmental Center, 16N900 Sleepy Hollow Road in West Dundee.
Gary contends that Fox River advocates have had a lot to celebrate in 2022 and even more to look forward to this year. He will examine continuing threats from microplastics, development projects on prime farmlands, ecologically- sensitive areas, and to downtown riverfronts. What’s happening throughout the watershed will surprise and amaze attendees!
The planned format will be a Jeopardy-style experience where your host will provide the answers and the audience will ponder the associated questions. The end result will be a better understanding of the state of the Fox River that will empower folks to be excited for what 2023 will bring.
