Families want the best for their young children, and we’re fortunate to live in a community with so many resources that support early learning. But navigating and accessing those resources can be overwhelming, especially for new and expectant parents. Thankfully, the Aurora Public Library District brings it all together in one welcoming, family-friendly space with our Early Childhood Resource Fair. This free event Saturday, Feb. 7, will be the perfect opportunity for families to learn and have fun!
Now in its fourth year, the Early Childhood Resource Fair continues to grow as a trusted source for families to connect with local organizations that support childhood development and overall well-being. While the fair highlights early childhood resources, the services and information available can benefit families with children of all ages, offering guidance and support that grows with them. At the fair, families can meet representatives from preschools and daycares and speak with non-profit organizations and social service providers who specialize in early childhood education, health, and family support. “The goal of this event is to bring everything together in one welcoming space,” said early literacy specialist Gretchen. “Families can ask questions, explore options, and learn about resources they may not have known existed—all while their children are engaged and having fun.”
For the kids, we have special activities like crafts, face painting, and early literacy stations with hands-on play. At each station they visit with their caregiver, they can earn a prize! Adding to the excitement, Chase from Paw Patrol will be available for photo opportunities, creating memorable moments for families. Snacks and juice (and coffee) will also be available to help keep meltdowns at bay. From engaging activities to simple comforts that help prevent overstimulation, every element of the fair is designed with families in mind.
Hosting the Early Childhood Resource Fair reinforces the library’s role as a central hub for learning, connection, and equity during a critical stage of child development. Beyond the fair itself, the library remains a valuable resource for families year-round. Ongoing support includes storytimes, parenting and child development materials, bilingual collections, online resources, and personalized assistance from children’s services staff. We are always ready to help!
Whether you’re a new or expectant parent, caring for a little one under five years old, or simply looking to learn more about early childhood resources in our community, this free event offers something for everyone. Our 4th Annual Early Childhood Resource Fair will be Saturday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Santori Library Atrium. Invite your friends and neighbors to join you for a day of learning, connection, and family fun at the library!
