The Fox Valley Music Consortium (FVMC) will present a fun-filled Autumn Picnic Gala from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Belle Salle Banquets in Aurora. This adult fundraising event will include, games and a buffet dinner. There will be silent and live auctions. FVMC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization that provides orchestral musical performances for all ages and educational opportunities for youth in the Fox Valley community. The organization’s ability to continue to operate is due in large part to the generous support of individual donors and patrons, as well as gifts from businesses and corporations from the community they serve.
The FVMC encompasses the Fox Valley Orchestra, Fox Valley Orchestra Chorus, Fox Valley Brass Band, Fox Valley Youth Orchestra, Fox Valley Youth Chorus, and Fox Valley El Sistema programs, plus the newly-added Jazz Band and Chamber Singers. They offer many cultural experiences and educational opportunities for adults and youth; and provide teachers, instruments, and instructional curriculum for disadvantaged students in after-school programs at 19 public and private schools in Aurora. The FVMC is a partner with many organizations, including the Fox Valley Park District, Communities in Schools, Aurora School Districts 131 and 129, and Covenant Christian School, to bring these programs to children eager to learn and have the experience of music.
