Fox Valley Park District facilities’ aim: True safety

Although there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus in our District, the Fox Valley Park District Board of Commissioners and Leadership Team is taking preventive measures to provide the safest conditions for guests and staff members. We continue to collaborate with community and regional health agencies to determine the best course of action.

Current measures to enhance the safety of FVPD facilities and inform patrons of their role include:

• Modified cleaning schedule includes increased frequency and detail of areas maintained, including handrails, door handles, machines, and other high-touch materials;

• Additional sanitizing stations throughout buildings;

• Visual sign campaign;

• Verbal reminders in group exercise classes to wash hands thoroughly and disinfect equipment;

• Digital campaign on social, website, and E-mail to provide instruction and additional resources;

• Additional gym wipes;

• Reminders to front-line staff members to please ask guests to wipe down equipment.

In the meantime, we advise staff members and patrons to stay home when they are sick, wash their hands frequently with soap and warm water, and cover their coughs and sneezes.
