Village government of Oswego is a partner with VetFest 141 to provide free live Christmas trees to Oswego’s veterans, first responders, frontline health-care workers, and their families.
Fifty trees are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Oswego Public Works Facility, 100 Theodore Drive. Trees for distribution are at the north end of the facility’s parking lot, and veterans, first responders and health-care workers from Oswego and the surrounding area may visit the facility and pick up a tree on the honor system at any time.
The live six-foot to eight-foot Fraiser Firs have been provided by VetFest 141 organizers Kevin Fialko and Chris Skilnic.
“We are pleased to be able to honor the veterans of our community this holiday season,” Fialko said. “We hope this gesture will serve as a small token of our gratitude for those who have given so much.”
“I want to extend special thanks to our community partners at VetFest 141 for purchasing trees and to Dusty Road Merchants in downtown Oswego for assisting us with distribution,” Village president Troy Parlier said. “This joint effort is a fine example of the values of our Oswego community, coming together to support each other and honoring those who have served our country during this holiday season.”
