An Aurora church and four community organizations will partner in a free four-day arts camp for 50 students.
Wesley United Methodist Church, 14 N. May St. in Aurora, will host its annual Art and Soul Camp from Monday, June 24 through Thursday, June 27. Community partners are Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry, June 24; Yellowbird Books, June 25; Friends of the Fox River, June 26; and Aurora Pride, June 27.
For youth ages four to 12, the camp will open daily with a free dinner at 5:30 p.m. followed by activities at arts, music and culinary stations.
Michelle Curiel, camp director and Wesley children and family discipleship coordinator, said each partner will provide an introduction about what they offer to the Aurora community and how the children can be a part of it through caring for neighbors and spreading kindness.
Curiel added that the partners helped develop arts activities and will staff some activity stations.
About 30 volunteers will help prepare dinner and lead activities Curiel said.
