Kendall County 4-H and the Yorkville Public Library will team up for a fun, interactive, three-day STEM experience for ages five to 12.
The Summer STEM camps, which will be June 14 to 16, will provide age-appropriate lessons for ages five to eight in the morning session, and for ages nine to 12 in the afternoon session. All participants will learn STEM principles while getting creative and solving problems.
Younger participants will discover static electricity, pop rockets, wind energy, flight principles, migratory patterns, and animal adaptations. The older group will build and launch their own model rockets, as well as explore robotic “bugs,” alternative energy, and water conservation and water quality.
Youth participants do not need to be 4-H members to participate. Cost per youth for the three-day program is $30 for the morning session, ages five to eight, and $40 for the afternoon session, ages nine to 12. Get all the details and register at go.illinois.edu/4HSTEMcampYorkville. Face coverings are required. Distancing, hand cleaning, and other safety measures will be followed.
If you have any questions, or need a reasonable accommodation to participate, contact 4-H Program Coordinator Jo Ann Britton at jbritton@illinois.edu or 630-553-5823. Early requests are strongly encouraged to allow sufficient time for meeting your access needs.
