Naperville 5K Turkey Trot family fun
The Naperville Noon Lions will be host to its 21st annual 5K Turkey Trot Thanksgiving Day morning Thursday, Nov. 22, at 8 a.m.. It is a family-friendly, fun event that will begin at Naperville Central High School, 440 Aurora Avenue, in Naperville. Running strollers can be used to accommodate infants and toddlers with an adult runner, to make it fun for the whole family. Registration is available only at napervilleturkeytrot.com. All proceeds from this event will go to support individuals who have low vision and are blind and cannot afford necessary services. Call 630-364-3922 for more information.

Lions Club Candy Day in Aurora
Aurora Noon Lions Club volunteers will offer Tootsie Pops for donations during the annual Illinois Lions Candy Day Friday, Oct. 12, at Jewel Foods, 1952 W. Galena Boulevard in Aurora.

Donations support Lions projects and services for visually- and hearing-impaired persons. Services include vision and hearing screenings, hearing aids, eyeglasses through VNA Healthcare Aurora, and other services.

Chili, chocolate, for Fox Valley Habitat
Chili and chocolate will be served in a fundraiser to be a benefit for Montgomery-based Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity.

Rejoice Lutheran Church, 0N377N. Mill Creek Road in Geneva, will be host to the fundraiser from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14.

The menu will include a variety of homemade chilis, toppings, and chocolate desserts.

The public is invited. Admission price is a $5 donation for individuals or $20 per family. Thrivent Financial, Oswego, will match donations. Proceeds will be a benefit to Habitat’s 2018 Faith Build, a partnership of approximately 30 Fox Valley churches to build an Aurora Habitat home in partnership with a needy family.
