Auctions Nov. 16 will help FVSRA
The Northern Nights Tree and Lights have silent and live auctions a delicious dinner and drinks to help as a benefit for the Fox Valley Special Recreation Association (FVSRA). The event will be will be from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16 at the Q Center, 1405 North 5th Avenue, St. Charles. The auctions will have a variety of items. The event will offer appetizers, wine, and craft-beer tasting, a dinner choice of chicken, vegetarian, or gluten-free options, and a wine and craft beer pull. Drinks will be complementary with the ticket price of $125.
All of the profits from Northern Nights Trees and Lights will support FVSRA, which in turn supports the recreation, leisure, and social opportunities provided for individuals with disabilities.

CIS Turkey Fest Nov. 10 in Aurora
The annual Communities In Schools (CIS) Turkey Fest fundraiser will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 at Mike & Denise’s Pizzeria & Pub, 1760 N Farnsworth Avenue, Aurora. The event will be a fun way to support the ongoing services CIS provides to Aurora students.
Last year CIS invested an estimated $180,000 of social work services into Aurora public schools and helped organize Coats For Kids, the largest coat drive in Aurora, and distributed 1,800 new Winter coats each year.

Naperville 5K Turkey Trot family fun
The Naperville Noon Lions will be host to its 21st annual 5K Turkey Trot Thanksgiving Day morning Thursday, Nov. 22, at 8 a.m.. It is a family-friendly, fun event that will begin at Naperville Central High School, 440 Aurora Avenue, in Naperville. Registration is available only at napervilleturkeytrot.com.
