Wilkinson Food Pantry volunteers helpful
End of the Year giving presents challenges in light of so many needs.
One place to start the process is to look at operation costs. There are several websites that can guide potential donors. A recent article in The Voice reported on a national non-profit organization, Southwest Key, that compensates its executive director $1.5 Million annually, although it is 1/10 the size of American Red Cross, whose executive director is paid what still seems like a generous amount of $600,000.
First, 98% of the work done by the Wilkinson Pantry in Aurora is done by volunteers, many of whom donate up to 20 hours per week. That is one advantage of a community organization.
If you choose a community donation, you may want to consider the Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry, 834 N. Highland Avenue, Aurora, IL 60506.
