Rotary Club of Montgomery holds raffle
The Rotary Club of Montgomery started the holiday season by decorating a service-inspired tree at the Montgomery Village Hall. The tree highlights all of the service projects performed by the Club this year. The tree will be on display through the end of the year.
The Club, along with the Rotary Club of Oswego and Tricia Griegel, a Montgomery resident, organized the donation of more than 100 coats to an elementary school in School District 308! Members supported the Aurora Noon Rotary Club at Festival of Lights in Phillips Park!
The Club is raising money for projects in 2019 by doing a $4,000 trip raffle. Tickets are $20 and can be bought at www.bit.ly/rotarymontgomery. The drawing will be on Facebook live December 28!
The Montgomery Rotary Club meets on the first and third Thursday mornings each month from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the Montgomery Village Hall.

Wilkinson Food Pantry volunteers helpful
End of the Year giving presents challenges in light of so many needs.
One place to start the process is to look at operation costs. There are several websites that can guide potential donors. A recent article in The Voice reported on a national non-profit organization, Southwest Key, that compensates its executive director $1.5 Million annually, although it is 1/10 the size of American Red Cross, whose executive director is paid what still seems like a generous amount of $600,000.
First, 98% of the work done by the Wilkinson Pantry in Aurora is done by volunteers, many of whom donate up to 20 hours per week.
If you choose a community donation, you may want to consider the Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry, 834 N. Highland Avenue, Aurora, IL 60506.
