United Methodist Church of Geneva will host a memorial blood drive Thursday, Sept. 18, from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.. Conducted by Versiti Blood Center’s mobile unit, the drive will take place in Fellowship Hall at the Church, 211 Hamilton Street, Geneva.
The public is invited. Parking is free.
Linda Tamlyn, drive coordinator, said the drive is dedicated to the memory of Sam, the late seven year old-grandson of a friend. He was given blood transfusions to keep his organs alive for donation, so others could live. “Hopefully, people will realize that they are doing the same by donating blood,” Tamlyn said.
