The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley (DCFV) will hold its August membership meeting Thursday, Aug. 10, at the historic Gray’s Mill Estate, 211 N. River Street, Montgomery.
Meetings are held in the Third Floor Banquet Room. Dinner is on members’ own from the menu at 5:30 p.m. and meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.. Guests are always welcome!
Guest Speaker will be Peggy Hasenauer, executive director of UChicago Medicine-Kovler Diabetes Center. Hasenauer leads a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, researchers, educators, and advocates, who are dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults.
The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley will present a check for $2,000 to Peggy Hasenauer for diabetes research. Kovler’s diabetes research team has made great strides in research towards finding a cure for diabetes. June 15, DCFV received a donation of $1,000 from the Aurora Noon Lions Club for diabetes research. Diabetes Club members matched the Lions Club check and have invited the Lions Club members to attend the presentation to Peggy Hasenauer.
The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, with 47 dedicated individuals, who want to seek an awareness of diabetes, and provide aid and education for diabetics, along with investing in research to find a cure.
