This famous track is owned by the Penski organization with a recent purchase. The Fourth of July weekend was busy with an Indy Car race on the new-road course Saturday and an Xfinity race. Sunday was the Nascar Cup race. No fans were present.
Sunday’s Big Machine Hand Sanitiser Race was won by Kevin Harvick, followed by Matt Kenseth in second place, Aric Almirillo in third, Brad Keselowski in fourth, and Cole Custer in fifth.
Jimmie Johnson had to sit the race out because he tested positive for COVID-19. Justin Allgaier drove Johnson’s No. 48 Chevy in the race.
NASCAR Xfinity Series, Pennzoil 150 at the Brickyard, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis, Ind., Saturday, July 4.
The race was won by Chase Brisco in a nine-lap shoot-out with four race cars changing positions every lap. Chase is from Indiana and drove for Stewart Hass motorsports. The Indy car GMR Grand Prix Saturday at the Brickyard was a runaway with Scott Dixon’s taking his 48th victory with a big lead over second-place Graham Rahjal, third was Simon Patnaund. The victory put Dixon in third place in overall victories. AJ Foyte is in first and Mario Andretti is in second.

Denny Hamlin won the race over Kevin Harvick.

The Pocono Organics 325 victor was Harvick over Hamlin.
• The noose controversy at Talladaga in Bubba Wallace Jr.’s pit turned out to be nothing but a back up pull down for the garage door. This was revealed in a picture taken in the stall last year with it being there then.
• Next weekend there will be an Indy Car doubleheader at Road America Saturday, Sunday July 11-12. Kids can attend free of charge.
