The high school badminton sectional meets, originally set for Monday, April 29, was postponed to Thursday, May 2 prior to the State meet, Friday-Saturday, May 10-11 in Charleston at the University of Eastern Illinois. The large school girls softball State meet will be May 31-June 1 at Eastside Centre in East Peoria. The boys baseball meet for large schools, 3A and 4A will be at Joliet Route 66 Stadium in Joliet.
• Now that May is here, the high school Spring seasons shift into high gear. For example, the girls track sectional meets will be Thursday, May 9. The boys track teams will face county and conference meets prior to their sectional meets, Thursday, May 16 and Friday, May 17. Attending track meets offers encouragment to competitors.
