Fox Valley Mall in Aurora became a destination location for hundreds of Indian Americans in the western suburbs.
A national traveling exhibit focusing on the Hindu civilization and its contributions to the world made a stop in the State’s second-most populous City, Aurora.
Darshana: A Glimpse into Hindu Civilization is an exhibit designed to increase awareness about Hindu culture and give viewers a glimpse into the Hindu way of life.
The exhibition features more than two dozen knowledge centers, focusing on topics that demonstrate how Hindu knowledge has manifested in all aspects of human endeavor.
The exhibit’s tour stop in Aurora was led by students who personally explained topics areas, from the origin of Namaste to the roots of health and mathematics.
Guests could observe Hindu artifacts, try Indian food, and interact with leaders of Aurora’s Indian American community, including Ward 10 alderwoman Shweta Baid and DuPage County Judge Kavita Athanikar, both of whom made history as firsts in their position. More than 15 Indian American organizations in the Aurora area collaborated to bring the exhibit to Aurora.
