The Aurora Historical Society’s historic Tanner House Museum is now festively decorated for the holiday season and ready for guests. Every room in the 1857 home is decked out in seasonal finery. Most rooms have a Christmas tree, including the formal parlor, which boasts a 12-foot tree.
The house will be open for “Tanner House Holidays” starting this Sunday, Dec. 7. Open hours are Sunday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday evenings from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., from December 7 through 28. There are seven total open days that visitors can view and tour the decorated house: Sundays, December 7, 14, 21, and 28 and Fridays, December 12, 19, and 26. No reservation is necessary during open hours.
Regular admission applies during the holiday season, $5 for ages 16 and up, $3 for ages 5 to 15, and free for children under 5 and Historical Society members.
After December 28, the Tanner House Museum will close until the Spring.
