Holy Angels School wins Aurora Sports Festival at Phillips Park

Student athletes from Holy Angels School in Aurora hold the trophy and scoreboard during their championship celebration Monday, May 9 of the city-wide Aurora Sports Festival at Phillips Park. For the first time in three years, the Festival returned with hundreds of seventh and eighth graders from 13 schools competing in 12 events. Organized by the City of Aurora Youth Services Division, the event included competitions in bags, basketball, bowling, checkers, chess, golf, running, skating, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball. In addition to Holy Angels, schools competing were Annunciation, Aurora Christian, Cowherd, Herget, Jefferson, Jewel, Pope St. John Paul II, Rodgers Magnet, St. Rita, Simmons, Waldo, and Washington.
