Excellence in sports is the objective in most reporting, but so is honesty.

With six games remaining through Monday, Sept. 23, the Chicago White Sox had tied the 1962 New York for most defeats in a season with 120. The 36-120 White Sox have secured a place in history.

The 1962 Mets were a first-year expansion team in the National League which finished 40-120.

The Mets revived and went on to win the 1969 World Series and overtook the Chicago Cubs in the final two weeks.

The Cubs waited until 2016 to win the World Series.

If we search for Chicago sports excellence on the horizon which team will step up with winning ways?
