In her ongoing effort to maintain an open line of communications with both constituents and media, State representative Stephanie Kifowit, D-Oswego, has named veteran television broadcaster Howard Sudberry as her director of communications.

“During this important time in our lives, where residents need true and accurate information about not only the pandemic but also how the State can assist them, I am honored to have Howard as part of the team,” Kifowit said. “His experience, coupled with his passion for serving the public, make him an ideal fit as we work to get beyond the pandemic and a return to a new normal.”

Sudberry was a sports anchor/reporter for CBS2 Chicago for 25 years as part of a 35-year career in broadcasting. He is a multiple Emmy Award winner and in 2015 was elected to the prestigious Chicago Silver Circle which honors individuals who have made significant contributions to local broadcasting. He was part of the executive team at Arlington Park Race Track leading the marketing, communications and media relations departments.

“I have great respect for Representative Kifowit for her dedication to serving the people in her district,” said Sudberry. “Clear and concise communications are an essential part of the role of any elected official and I look forward to using my years of experience to ensure the residents of the 84th District are always informed and up to date on not only what the State of Illinois is doing for them, but also how they can find assistance or further information if they need it.”
