The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) in Aurora, in partnership with the city government of Aurora and the 605 Innovation District, invites Aurora youth ages 14 to 20 to participate in the ‘Aurora Smart City Youth Summit’ from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23.
“Aurora is poised to become a regional technology hub,” said Aurora mayor Richard C. Irvin. “To achieve that goal, we need to gather insights from our youth.”
The one-day summit will convene Aurora youth to discuss the impact and possibilities of a smart city. Youth will work in teams with subject matter experts to form ideas and design how they will impact the digital economy of Aurora.
The summit will be held at the Steve and Jamie Chen Center for Innovation and Inquiry on the IMSA campus, 1500 Sullivan Road. Lunch will be included.
