Impressive students at Plano School District Board of Education meeting

Seventeen EGJ 4th, 5th, and 6th graders presented on Climate and Culture at Emily G. Johns School at a recent Plano Community Unit School District No. 88 Board of Education meeting. Each student spoke about an aspect of how their school is focusing on this important topic, whether through celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, enjoying lively Hispanic music, learning the Pledge of Allegiance in Spanish, creating cultural art projects, and participating in a diverse number of school clubs, including the new Multicultural Club. They were mentored by EGJ teacher Jimena Moreno with support from principal Nate Campbell and assistant principal Dan Solecki. Plano Community Unit School District No. 88
