Indoor Winter Market: Unique holiday items

An indoor Winter Market will join with the Winter Lights lineup Friday, Nov. 22. Winter Lights Winter Market will have shops and museums open throughout downtown Aurora with pop up shops to feature a variety of artisans and makers.

The Winter Lights Winter Market will be a time to get a head start on holiday shopping with dozens of artisans and vendors selling their wares at a handful of locations. The market will allow shoppers to buy unique items for the holidays at locations such as Society 57, SciTech Hands On Museum, Pure Skin Solutions, All Spoked Up, If These Walls Could Talk, and Gary Brown Art Gallery.

• If These Walls Could Talk, 32 S. Stolp Avenue, will be host to All Out Records, a vintage album pop up shop with uniquely-curated LPs at affordable prices. 6 p.m. to 9 p.m..

• Aurora Historical Society at David L. Pierce Art and History Center, 20 E. Downer Place, will open its gift shop full of gift items including Aurora T-shirts, ornaments, and other one-of-a-kind items. 6 p.m. to 9 p.m..

• Gary Brown Art Gallery, 7 S. Broadway, will be open with “Gifts of Love,” with art, photography, and the International House of Hope, unique handmade gifts from rescued victims of human trafficking. 6 p.m. to 9 p.m..

• L & L Vintage, 30 N. Broadway, will be open with Trinkets and Treasures, Replay Vintage, and Wilameana’s Way. Those who bring in a new toy for Toys for Tots will get 10% off all purchases. 6 p.m. to 9 p.m..

• Pure Skin Solutions, 26 S. Stolp Avenue, will have Luv that Scrub and Ms P’s Gluten Free Sweets. 5 p.m. to 9 p.m..

• The Cotton Seed Creative Exchange, 8 N. Broadway, will be open with new and vintage items curated for the holidays. 6 p.m. to 10 p.m..

• All Spoked Up, 14 W. Downer Place, Suite 12, will be host to Pricked Finger Felt and Crafty Schmit. 6 p.m. to 9 p.m..

• SciTech Hands On Museum, 18 W. Benton Street, will be open with vendors and a 15% discount in the gift shop plus free museum admission for the main floor. 6 p.m. to 8 p.m..

• Society 57, 100 S. River Street, will have Makers Market with live music and a large variety of vendors curated by Illuminate Space. 5 p.m. to 9 p.m..

• Aurora Regional Fire Museum, 53 N. Broadway, will be open with free admission and 15% discount in the gift shop. The Museum has a new holiday ornament. 6 p.m. to 8 p.m..

• Two Brothers Roundhouse, 205 N. Broadway, will offer specials on their bags of coffee. They will have their beer and spirits to-go available for gift-giving in the cafe. 6 p.m. to 9 p.m..

Aurora officially will start the holiday season with the annual Winter Lights holiday celebration from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22. The evening will include activities along Downer Place, including food trucks, a festive parade at 6:30 p.m., the City’s tree lighting at G.A.R. Memorial Hall and Museum, fireworks, and photos with Santa.

Food trucks, include Holy Pierogi, Red Hot Chicago, Small Cakes, Burritoville, Grumpy Gaucho, and Broasters.

After the activities, Wyckwood House, 14 W. Downer Place, Suite 16, will have photos with Santa along with Tredwell Coffee, 14 W. Downer Place, Suite 18. Visitors will enter Tredwell Coffee in order to see Santa at Wyckwood House, a curated home decor shop that features more than a dozen vendors. A digital photo will then be available for free download.

The city government of Aurora is host to Winter Lights in collaboration with Aurora Downtown, a nonprofit organization of downtown business and property owners.
