The residents of Aurora’s Fourth Ward will have a choice in February 2021 when they go to the polls to elect their next alderman. John Bell announced he is running for alderman of the Fourth Ward.
Bell, who has lived and worked in the Ward for nearly a decade, seeks to build a stronger Ward by focusing on community engagement. His focus is on keeping Ward residents more informed on what’s happening in City Council and proactively seeking their input to make sure everyone’s voice is heard and valued by the City.
“I hear a growing frustration in our Ward from people who feel unheard. A good alderman keeps the residents of their ward informed and actively seeks their input on important decisions,” Bell said.
Bell’s priorities include strengthening the community by working together to solve the challenges, increase community engagement by making City Council agendas and meetings more accessible, represent all of the residents of the Ward by actively seeking voices and ideas, supporting economic development from within the community with a focus on education and job training, and putting people first by eliminating systemic barriers that members of the community face.
“I’m convinced that when we put community first, we will build a better, stronger Aurora for everyone,” Bell said about his vision for the Ward and the City.
