Through Monday this week, the Cubs were 5-5 in the most recent 10 games and the White Sox were 4-6 in that span.
- The Chicago Sky woman’s basketball team started 4-3 and was in third place in the six-team Eastern Division through Monday this week.
- The Chicago Blackhawks have the first-round draft choice June 28-29 in the National Hockey League (NHL) draft June 28-29. That is where it starts. Vegas leads Florida, 2-0, in the Stanley Cup final. More than in the National Basketball Association (NBA) the NHL momentum can shift quickly.
- In high school sports, Newark, 12-0, led the Little Ten Conference with six girls all-conference in softball, three unanimous. Hinckley-Big Rock and Somonauk, each 12-2 in baseball, led the Little Ten all-conference selections with four each.
