Kane County completed its new multi-use facility, on the Kane County Judicial Campus at 37 W. 777 IL Route 38, corner of Peck Road and Route 38, St. Charles. Kane County is committed to providing innovative and high-quality government services to its citizens.

Sheriff Ron Hain said, “Kane County’s new multi-use facility is a shining example of the constant teamwork demonstrated by our offices and divisions to best serve our citizens. I give a special thank you to our past and present County Boards, who have always demonstrated unwavering support of our mission and service.”

Coroner Robert Russell said, “We have been at the Batavia Avenue location since 1990. The building assigned to us at that time was previously the laundry facility for the former seminary. Shortly after moving to that location, it became obvious that the building was inadequate. Fortunately, 31 years and many tragedies later, we are being blessed with a state-of-the-art facility. Now the employees of the coroner’s office can confidently work, and the public can be served appropriately. It has taken a long time to get to this point and I am very thankful that the County Board decided to invest in this office.”

Kane County Board chairman Corinne Pierog said, “The opening of Kane County’s multi-use facility heralds a new beginning for Kane County. This state-of-the art building will provide our residents with a coroner’s office that protects the dignity of Kane County’s families in their most difficult of times. It will provide appropriate facilities for the Department of Building Management and the Sherriff’s Office. By putting these offices under one roof efficiencies and cost-saving measures will be immediately enacted and sustained. The building’s future plans will also include solar panels enabling the building to greatly reduce its energy costs, while protecting our environment. Kane County’s multi-use facility is a well-planned and effective complement to the Kane County’s Judicial Center Campus as well as an asset to our residents for decades to come.”

The new 57,940 square-foot-building will include the new Kane County Coroner’s offices and morgue, Sheriff’s emergency fleet storage and maintenance facilities, and Kane County Facility Management’s shops and offices. It will include storage space for County-wide records and equipment. The multi-use facility building will provide these County offices with a modern, 21st Century design that will promote efficiency and better service. The building was designed by Cordogan Clark and the general contractor is R.C. Wegman Construction and was built at a cost of $13.4 Million.

Kane County invites the public to celebrate alongside key constituents and residents at its grand opening event from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, April 30 at 37 W. 777 IL Route 38, corner of Peck Road and Route 38, in St. Charles Township.
