Kane County Clerk John A. Cunningham announced Monday, Oct. 29 the number of early votes cast by Kane County voters for the November 6 General Election set a record. It exceeded 27,000, which eclipsed the 26,132 votes cast in last midterm General Election in November 2014. Kane County voters still have more days to vote early at any of the early voting sites throughout Kane County throught November 5.
Cunningham said, “I am thrilled that Kane County residents have been taking advantage of all of the opportunities we have provided for early voting. The Clerk’s Voter Outreach Program (VOP) has been an excellent tool to promote early voting and voter education, and we are seeing the success of the program through the large number of early voters. The Voter Outreach Program is one of the methods we have used to make voting more accessible to Kane County residents.”
Beginning October 22, early voting expanded to include 29 sites throughout Kane County. Permanent early voting sites are open seven days a week, in which hours vary to include the two Kane County Clerk’s office locations at 719 S. Batavia Avenue, Bldg. B, Geneva, and at 5 E. Downer Place, Suite F, Aurora; at Carpentersville Fire Station No. 93, 5000 Sleepy Hollow Road, Carpentersville; Elgin Township, 729 S. McLean Boulevard, Elgin; Gail Borden Library, 270 N. Grove Avenue, Elgin; Kane County Branch Court Conference Center, 530 S. Randall Road., St. Charles; Phillips Park Stover Center, 1000 Ray Moses Drive, Aurora; and Vaughan Athletic Center, 2121 W. Indian Trail, Aurora.
Other early voting centers, with various dates and times, include Batavia Park District Civic Center, 327 W. Wilson Street, Batavia; Campton Community Center, 5N082 Old LaFox Road., Campton Hills; city of Elgin government, 150 Dexter Court., Elgin; city of St Charles government, 2 E. Main Street, St. Charles; Del Webb Sun City, 12880 Del Webb Boulevard, Huntley; Dundee Township, 611 E. Main Street, Suite 201, East Dundee; Hampshire Township, 170 Mill Avenue, Hampshire; The Holmstad, 700 W. Fabyan Parkway., Batavia; Sugar Grove Library, 125 S. Municipal Drive, Sugar Grove; Town & Country Library, 320 E. North Street., Elburn; and village of West Dundee government, 102 S. Second Street, West Dundee.
The Votemobile will be at the following locations from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.: Jewel Osco in Elgin, 1660 Larkin Avenue, October 29; Jewel Osco West Dundee, 1250 W. Main Street, October 30; Jewel Osco, Sugar Grove, 465 N. Route 47, October 31; and Jewel Osco, Batavia, 119 S. Randall Road., November 1.
Cunningham said, “Kane County residents can vote early at any of the early voting centers in Kane County, so voters can find a location that is most convenient for them.”
