Kane County Cougars hold annual media day baseball workouts Monday, May 6 at Northwestern Medicine Field in Geneva. Players and coaches participate in batting practice and fielding drills. The Cougars will open the this season Friday, May 10, with a three-day road trip to the Milwaukee against the Milkmen. The Cougars debut at home will be Tuesday, May 14, at 11:30 a.m. against the Sioux Fall Canaries. Opening day promotions will include a cap giveaway. Cougar newcomers include Batavia native Alex Troop, a left-handed pitcher, and Ryan Nutof, a South Elgin native and right-handed pitcher. Field manager George Tsamis returns for his fourth season.
