Kane County clerk. John A. Cunningham announced the release of the 2025-2026 Kane County Government Guideand the 2025-2027 Kane County Election Calendar.
The Kane County Government Guide includes information regarding local, county, state, and federal-elected officials who represent Kane County. It briefly describes the various departments within Kane County government, outlines the services provided, and lists the names of the administrators of those departments. The guide also includes a comprehensive listing of the national and state officials who represent the citizens of Kane County, as well as the elected and appointed officials of the units of local government. It is intended to enable citizens to become more familiar with Kane County government, thus encouraging each person to take an active part in its decision-making process.
Clerk Cunningham said, “I am proud to announce that our Government Guide and Election Calendar are now available for the public. These resources are very important for our residents who want to learn about their local governments or who are considering running for local office themselves. Accessibility is important to the Clerk’s Office, and providing these resources helps to make information about our local elected officials and governments more accessible to our residents.”
The Election Calendar includes important dates for candidates, elected officials, and the public regarding the March 17, 2026 General Primary Election, the November 3, 2026 General Election, and the April 6, 2027 Consolidated Election. Some of the highlights include the dates for candidate petition circulation, petition filing,ballot certification, the start of Early Voting and Voting by Mail, and Election Day. All dates are subject to change by the Illinois General Assembly, and the dates for the 2027 election cycle are estimated dates which will be confirmed after the legislature concludes the 2026 session.
The Government Guide is updated every two years following the Consolidated Election and is available at clerk.kanecountyil.gov/Elections/Documents/GovernmentGuide.pdf. Changes to the guide will be posted in the online version of the guide.
The Election Calendar is completed every two years before the General Election cycle and is available at clerk.kanecountyil.gov/Elections/Documents/Election-Calendar.pdf. Hard copies of both documents are available at the Clerk’s Office.
