The Kane County Health Department has been working diligently in accordance with the KCHD Mass-Vaccination Project Plan and the IDPH Mass-Vaccination Plan to plan for and execute the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines upon receiving shipments. To date, Kane County has distributed 16,045 doses of the vaccine to phase 1a health-care facilities.

The first group to receive the vaccine under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations are Phase 1a healthcare workers and those residing and serving in healthcare facility settings who are at an increased risk of exposure. Vaccinations in long term care facilities are administered under a Federal program by Walgreen’s and CVS Pharmacies.
