The Kane County Board has approved Kathy Fosser to be the transitional interim executive director for the Health Department. It comes after the recent retirement of executive director Barbara Jeffers.
“As interim executive director, I am proud that we have a highly skilled and competent team that continues to care for our Kane residents through tirelessly working to address this exhausting pandemic,” said Fosser.
“We are small, but mighty because we have built important community partnerships that work with us whether it’s antigen testing, contact tracing, case and complaint investigations, educating businesses, vaccine distribution planning, and so forth.”
Kathleen “Kathy” L. Fosser began her municipal public servant career in1985. During her 22 years at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage, she was promoted in various roles while attending night school at College of DuPage (Associates of Arts, 1989), Aurora University (Bachelors of Arts, Business Admin. 1992), and Keller Graduate School of Management (MBA, 1995).
In 2013, Fosser returned to Public Health in senior management under Barbara Jeffers’ Executive Leadership. “It was during this time, I knew this was my calling and Barb truly made me fall in love with public health and working to improve population health in our community,” said Fosser.
