Key issues: Community involvement and voting

Expressed concerns for the democratic republic in the United States should not be diminished, nor minimized. The clarity and adherence to the U.S. Constitution is only as solid as the majority of its citizens allow it and make it.

There are many avenues to freedom, independence, and government in a democratic republic. One of those avenues is the freedom to vote. The next Election Day will be Tuesday, Nov. 8 and early voting in the State has been ongoing. Those who requested ballots to be sent by mail augment the voting process. It is up to each person to understand the issues and cut through the incorrect information, false salesmanship, and yet, each person’s vote is sacred and must be respected. It is another feature of living in a democratic republic. Should be enough said, however, the vigil is continual for advocates of our type of government who seek to shed moving closer to autocracy!

• This week’s edition of The Voice is filled with information, photos, and news features. We receive more usable information than we can put into an edition and do our best to reflect the concerns and happiness of the members of our circulation area. Additional paid advertising of all kinds would assist in expanding the space to accommodate more news, information, and photos. There is a direct relationship.

• Most communities hold Halloween celebrations in the final weekend of this month and offer a good time. Trick-or-treat has become a positive that offers treats only and stops any tricks. The title has become a misnomer, thankfully. Enjoy the color, the treats, and the positive communal relationship.

• Just a thought: Which month, October, November, December, do you enjoy as the best, most full, and most colorful month? All three?

• A special ground-breaking ceremony recently was held for the new Fox Valley Apartments to bring back new life to the old Lincoln Elementary School and the Todd Elementary School. Refurbish and renew help.

• The Chapel on the Green, 107 W. Center Street in Yorkville will hold a Veterans Day program Sunday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m.. Veterans Day is November 11.

• Aurora’s Fox Valley Mall continues its transformation. The Aurora City Council with more than 800 new units to the regional shopping center.

• Legal services will be the aim of the “Give Hope Reentry Summit from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Community Christian Church, 78 S. LaSalle Street in Aurora. Focus for children will be included.

• Fiddler on the Roof will be performed at Rosary High School in Aurora, November 3-6.
