NASCAR Monster Energy Series, 1000 Bulbs 500, Talladega Superspeedway, Lincoln, Ala., Sunday, Oct. 14.
Kurt Busch won the pole position and the top four starting positions in this restrictor plate race went to his Stewart Haas teammates, Clint Bowyer, Aric Almirola, and Kevin Harvick. Almirola came out on top in last lap and won his second career race in the Nascar cup series. Following Almirola was Bowyer in second place, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. in third, Denny Hamlin in fourth, and Joey Logano in fifth.
The first segment was won by Kurt Busch and Harvick won the second segment.
Early on in the third segment Jamie McMurray had a tire blow out and hit a few cars in the middle of the pack for the forth caution of the day.
With 28 laps to go a tire was loose in the pits and rolled out towards the race track which caused a late race caution. Some cars came in for fresh tires and gas, but leader Kurt Busch stayed out on the track.
Kurt Busch still led the field, but he ran out of gas on the final lap and teammate Almirola crossed the checkered flag for the victory.
NASCAR Monster Energy Series, Gander Outdoors 400, Dover International Speedway, Dover Del., Sunday, Oct. 7.
On the track known as the Monster Mile, Chase Elliot won his second Nascar Cup victory in an overtime run for the checkered flag. Following Elliot was Denny Hamlin in second place, Logano in third, Eric Jones in fourth, and Kurt Busch in fifth.
Harvick won stages one and two.
On the final laps after a red flag was waved for cleanup after a large car crash, Elliot, on worn tires, pulled ahead of Hamlin and won by just .265 seconds!
