• Bliss Woods habitat restoration: A habitat restoration work day will be held at Bliss Woods Forest Preserve Saturday, Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. to noon. Cutting and stacking of invasive brush and trees will be on the agenda. Bliss Woods is a beautiful, high-quality woodland with many unusual plants and removing invasive species will help sustain its unique nature. Please wear long pants, long sleeves, gloves and sturdy shoes. Bring non-spray bug repellent. We will meet at the inside, main parking lot in the park. Enter off Bliss Road. Refreshments will be served. Anyone under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
