Notes and thoughts in another crowded edition of The Voice:
- Caring for others is important and often lasts a long time for those who receive the care: The 44th Lions Club Fishing Derby at Shabbona Lake State Park for Persons with Disabilities Thursday, July 20 is such a case. The Sycamore Lions provide the care and the hot dogs for clubs in our far west region. The Lions Club participating: Genoa, Kirkland, Paw Paw, Earlville, Leland, DeKalb, Sycamore, Cortland, Malta, Hinckley, Waterman, Shabbona, Lee, Somonauk, and Sandwich. It is an annual event of caring.
- Aurora Downtown and the city government of Aurora’s Special Events team will be host to a new, limited, weekly Summer series each Wednesday through the middle of August. The new series, Music and Market on Stolp Avenue, will combine with the Aurora Farmers Market to include artisan vendors and clothing vendor. Music and Market will be held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. the next four Wednesdays on Stolp Avenue between Galena Boulevard and Downer Place. Live music will start at 6 p.m. at Millennium Plaza gazebo on Stolp Avenue.
