Season notes
For the second straight season, Newark and Serena shared the conference title.
Newark has won or shared the conference title six straight seasons.
IHSA postseason
After sharing the conference title, Newark and Serena both won IHSA Class 1A regionals. The two teams met in the semifinal round of the Serena Class 1A Sectional, with the host Lady Huskers winning 9-5.
Newark won the IHSA Class 1A Regional played at Indian Creek. The Lady Norsemen defeated Earlville in the regional championship game. Newark’s season came to an end in the semifinals of the Serena Class 1A Sectional with a 9-5 loss to the host Lady Huskers.
Serena won their own IHSA Class 1A Regional, defeating Gardner-South Wilmington 4-0 in the regional title game. The Lady Huskers then won their own IHSA Class 1A Sectional, defeating Newark 9-5 and Ottawa Marquette 6-2. Serena’s season came to an end at the Illinois Wesleyan Supersectional with a 9-5 loss to LeRoy. Serena finished 27-7 overall.
