The Little White School Museum’s first intern, Ronja Schmitz-Weincke, wrapped up her two-month stint as the museum’s first intern in July.

The museum internship program was instituted by the Oswegoland Heritage Association Board of Directors early this year. It is being conducted and organized for the heritage association by museum coordinator Joe Noce.
“The internship program is designed to give Oswego area students interested in history and museums a shot at actual museum work,” explained museum director Roger Matile. “It also gives us some help at the museum in areas such as mounting exhibits and maintaining our literally priceless collection of documents, photos, and artifacts.”
Schmitz-Weincke was a second-year student at Waubonsee Community College and Montgomery resident who graduated with honors in May. She has transferred to the University of Wisconsin where she will attend classes this fall.
High school and college students interested in public history and museum studies who may have an interest in a museum internship should email museum coordinator Joe Noce at jnoce@oswegolandpd.org.
